The pouring of the walls for our new space is a two phase process. The back half of the house was to be poured first and then the front half. The prospect of finally having all the walls poured was exciting. That would be the bulk of the concrete and would lend an enormous amount of seismic strengthing to the house.
The process of installing more rebar in preparation for another pour for the front half the house was time consuming work. Each rod of rebar had to be bent and installed in place one at a time to create the twisted, rib like structure that gives concrete it's strength under pressure. Slowly, slowly the concrete box that will be transformed into a beautiful dungeon is being formed.
